35 degrees at blast off, 30 mile
per hour wind gusts, rain, sleet and snow. Sounds
like a tournament on Lake Michigan in February. But
no, it was the C.O.S. season opener on Lake Sara
sponsored by the Illinois Bass Anglers. Although the
weather was extremely poor, 7 of the 15 teams were
able to put together strong enough patterns to bring
six fish limits to the scales.
Weighing an amazing 17.28lbs, the
team of Dillow and Dillow took First Place honors.
Taking Second Place, the team of Richard Miller and
Dave Winnie’s limit weighed 11.76lbs. Third Place
was awarded to the team of Jim Blumenstein and Brian
Martin with 11.26lbs.
T&D Awards Big Bass honors went to
the team of Jeff Cole and Mike Stephenson. Jeff’s
3.22lbs fish snuck past three or four other teams
bringing in fish in the 3 pound range.
Taking first Place as C.O.S.
members, Richard Miller (boater) and Dave Winnie
(non-boater) were also each awarded $250.00 Setyr
casting rods.
